We are a relatively small but exciting company in a pivotal growth phase. Due to our growth, we are seeking an actuarial analyst to join our Sydney office.

Ideal candidates will be new or recent graduates who are highly numerical, have excellent communication skills, and are seeking to work with some of the best senior consultants in Australia in financial services.

About the Actuarial Analyst Role

We offer a permanent full-time position to an actuarial analyst. You will work in different teams to support senior consultants for multiple projects. Your role would include:

  • Analysing data and identifying key trends
  • Building and modifying financial models
  • Writing reports to present the outcome
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders with clear communication.

Examples of the type of projects are:

  • General insurance pricing and reserving valuations
  • Employee entitlement valuations
  • Developing calculators for banks
  • Health funding analysis

About You

  • A tertiary qualification in Actuarial studies, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar discipline with an excellent academic record
  • Completion (or approaching) of Part I and Part II actuarial exams is desirable, but not essential
  • Proficiency in MS Office products especially in MS Excel and Word. Other software application knowledge (e.g., SQL, SAS, R, VBA, Python) would be an advantage
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, in particular, the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and simple manner
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • The ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
  • Time management abilities and be able to perform effectively under pressure

The expected start date for this role is around the end of January 2024.
