Adrian qualified as an actuary in both Australia and the UK, and has extensive experience within the general insurance, reinsurance and corporate finance industries in Australia, the UK, and Switzerland.

Adrian has over 25 years’ experience, including seven years as the Chief Actuary of a global insurance and reinsurance group where he was responsible for the pricing, reserving, and capital adequacy functions as well as providing significant input into underwriting and business strategy.

He has been the Managing Director of PFS Consulting since early 2020 after 8 years as a Principal.

Jayesh Bhana is a senior actuary who has held specialist technical actuarial roles in both Australia and South Africa. He is an experienced consultant in the areas of financial modelling, reserving, capital, risk management, pricing and product development within the life insurance industry. He also specialises in providing technical actuarial advice and services for the implementation of the new Insurance Accounting regime (IFRS17). He has worked extensively with Prophet and related actuarial software packages and has sound working knowledge of coding in SQL and VBA.

Ian has had a long career in financial services senior management and board roles, in Australia, the UK, New Zealand and Hong Kong.

He was Managing Director of Pearl, London Life and NPI in the UK, at a time of major upheaval. Until recently, he chaired the boards of OnePath Life, and OnePath General Insurance. Prior to mid 2015, he was Deputy Chairman of APRA, the prudential regulator of banks, insurance companies and superannuation funds.

He has a deep interest in risk management and risk culture. In recent years, he has had a particular interest in the impact of social attitudes and norms on risks for financial services businesses.

David is an actuary with over 30 years’ experience. Before joining PFS he was with a big four accounting firm, and prior to that with APRA in various senior executive roles, including involvement with international regulators.

He has detailed knowledge of the new Insurance Accounting regime (IFRS 17 and the associated AASB 17) and its implications for all types of business. As a member of the Australian Transition Resource Group for AASB 17, and of the relevant actuarial taskforce, David is deeply involved with the development, interpretation and implementation of the new standard. He has also advised regulatory authorities in a number of jurisdictions on a range of supervisory matters.

Chipo graduated from the University of East Anglia (UK) in 2018 with a BSc in Actuarial Science before relocating to Australia to earn her Master of Actuarial Practice from Macquarie University in 2020. She joined PFS as an actuarial analyst during mid-2021 and then qualified as an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia in late-2021.

Chipo’s previous experience in health insurance includes actuarial valuations, rate review, and regulatory reporting. Since joining PFS, she has gained experience in various projects across general insurance including liability valuations, pricing, data analytics for not-for-profit entities and NSW Emergency Service Levy reviews.

More recently, she has been involved in the ICAAP and Capital projections for the Australian Branch of a general insurer; and APRA reporting for a superannuation fund.

Angela joined PFS in January 2023 after graduating from UNSW with a Distinction in Actuarial Studies, specialising in Actuarial Risk Management and Analytics, and a Distinction in Commerce, majoring in Finance. She completed her Associateship with the Actuaries Institute of Australia at the end of 2023.

Angela has experience assessing financial risks, including market and credit risk. Since joining PFS she has been involved in various projects across general insurance, including builders warranty, travel insurance, and NSW Emergency Services Levy calculations. Bea graduated from Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines) in 2017 with a BSc in Management before completing her master’s degree in actuarial practice from Macquarie University (Australia) last 2023.

She joined PFS as an actuarial analyst in January 2024, working towards an associateship with the Actuaries Institute of Australia. Bea has prior work experience in business and managerial finance in the Philippines. Prior to joining PFS, she also worked for an Australian superannuation firm.

Her current role includes areas of general insurance, healthcare, and valuation. She enjoys using actuarial techniques to "read between the lines," analyse complex situations, and solve business problems.
